It seems like this year is flying by, here it is already the 4th of July already. This is my favorite time of the year, sunny, hot days & fireworks. There is a lot going on this week. Seems like the weekend is starting on Wednesday, July 1 with Tom Watt "The Buffet Man" at Wisp Resort. Admission to this concert is free, just bring a blanket or chair and get into the summer spirit with the sounds of "Buffet". Who doesn't love Jimmy Buffet? Friday night is another great concert at Broadford Park before the fireworks featuring Brother Short. Come early and stay late for the fireworks and live entertainment, starting at 5pm. Friday night also kicks off 2 nights of bronco busting and bull riding at the Garrett County Fairgrounds with Dave Martin's Championship Rodeo. Don't miss Accident's Homecoming on July 4th with the parade starting at 11am, then stay for a chicken dinner at the fire hall. My aunt and uncle are cooking up the chicken so I know that it will be good!! Stop by Annie's Kitchen then for some yummy desserts, I highly recommend the grilled chocolate sandwich, YUM! Next stop by Ridgeview Valley for live entertainment by All Things Common, craft vendors and Lakeside Creamery ice cream. Gee this sounds like the day of all eating!! Then your off to Garrett Community College for the Independence Day Concert starting at 7:30 with the Garrett Community Concert Band and Garrett Choral Society concert, celebrating patriotism with pride. Then finish the day off with the fantastic mountainside fireworks set off Wisp Mountain. If you get a chance watch them by boat, it's mesmerizing. Have a Happy & Safe 4th of July!
