Well everyone tells me they see these marvelous creatures all the time, but as usual I am never in the right spot at the right time to see the really cool wildlife. Well, Pete was definitely in the right spot at the right time as he sent me the following photo and blog to go along with it.
From Pete: Looking out of the window this morning, while a gentle snow was coming down, I suddenly saw a a young American Bald Eagle swooping down and circling over a small flock of American Coots. I ran to fetch my camera, quickly switch from the regular lens to my telephoto lens and had just enough time to aim, focus, and click. The result was the shot below, just after the eagle snatched a Coot from the water. The eagle has grabbed the coot by its tail, and the coot's beak is dragging in the water.
